Normally, to make the same menu, you would need four pieces of cooking equipment : a grill for grilling the mackerel, a frying pan for frying the corn oyaki, a pot for boiling the dried daikon radish, and a pot for boiling the okra.

Grilled mackerel bento

■Ingredients (for 2 people)■
1) Grilled Mackerel
<br/>Salted mackerel, half a piece

2) Corn Oyaki (50g canned corn)
1 1/2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon salad oil
Salt to taste Green laver to taste

3) Simmered dried daikon radish 50g dried daikon radish (rehydrated in water)
1/4 carrot *2 tablespoons water
★1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
★1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon granulated Japanese soup stock

4) Sesame-dressed Okra 5 okra 1 teaspoon mentsuyu (3x concentrated)
Ground sesame seeds (as needed)

Rice (appropriate amount)

How to make it

Cut the salted mackerel into bite-sized pieces.
Put the ingredients for the okonomiyaki in a bowl and mix.

When cooking boiled dried daikon radish, cover it with aluminum foil to allow the flavors to soak in quickly.

It's even easier to make if you use a dried vegetable mix that includes radish, carrots, etc.

Okra can be hard if boiled in water, so boiling it in lukewarm water will allow it to cook just right in time with the grilling time for the mackerel. You can use hot water from a water heater instead of boiling water.

Corn oyaki can also be made with other ingredients such as edamame soybeans and mixed vegetables.
