-Please tell us about the background and mission of the establishment of EPEIOS JAPAN.

EPEIOS JAPAN is a company that just started in Tokyo in 2020. Currently based mainly in Japan, China, and Korea, the company develops products that incorporate Asia's outstanding technology and production capabilities with Japan's globally recognized manufacturing expertise.

Its flagship brand, EPEIOS, offers a wide range of home appliances featuring simple and functional designs . It offers a diverse product lineup, including electric kettles, rice cookers, and electric toothbrushes, and is developing as a lifestyle solutions brand that aims to make everyday life richer and more comfortable through these products.

Our philosophy is to identify the essence of a product and provide simple yet advanced products at reasonable prices, and we have created products that not only bring material wealth but also spiritual richness .

-What is the meaning behind the company name EPEIOS?

The brand name EPEIOS is inspired by the Greek mythological figure who oversaw the construction of the famous Trojan Horse and led the country to victory in battle . We chose the name because we wanted to emulate his ideas and craftsmanship.

We want to be a brand that delivers products that help create a rich lifestyle , appealing to generations who have become more interested in how they live since the COVID-19 pandemic, especially millennials.

--Please tell us about the process and background behind the creation of the FoElem series.

The FoElem series is a smart home appliance that best embodies our brand concept, which we announced in 2022. This series was created in collaboration with Benoît Pierre Emilie, a designer of textiles, mainly scarves, for world-renowned luxury brands such as Hermès.

The background to this is the growing awareness of the living environment. The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 has led to increased interest and doubt about traditional ways of "living" and increased consideration for the living environment. As such, we wanted to propose a product that is suited to the new era, one that will "make life more comfortable and enrich the soul." To that end, we teamed up with Benoit, who is not from the home appliance industry, with the aim of providing an innovative product with unprecedented ideas and designs.

In developing the series, the designers focused on the four elements of water, fire, earth, and wind, with the theme of "change," and created a lineup of four products that represent these elements: a humidifier, an air fryer oven, a coffee maker, and a circulator.

The theme of "change" was chosen because the designers believed that "accepting changes in ourselves and the times, and thinking about the future, leads to a more fulfilling life." By reflecting the changes and harmony of the four elements of nature in product design, we aim to provide products that will inspire users to live a more fulfilling life .

The FoElem series is not just a product to use, but a smart home appliance series born from the fusion of EPEIOS' philosophy and the creativity of world-class designers, offering experiences that enrich the soul through use, improve living environments, and provide products with excellent design.

--What exactly do you mean by "an experience that enriches the soul"?

The FoElem series focuses on "change" and incorporates change into the products themselves. For example, our air fryer oven, Chef. While air fryers have existed in the past, our Chef oven is designed so that you can see what's inside. This means you can see the cooking process, the process by which the ingredients "transform" into the dish.

By observing these changes and making adjustments, the cooking experience will surely become even richer. The same is true for our Mocca coffee maker. The taste changes with subtle adjustments when brewing coffee. The experience of drinking coffee expands beyond simply drinking the finished product to the experience of brewing and drinking it.

We believe that experiences through such changes and the expansion of concrete actions are "experiences that enrich the soul."

Since the launch of the FoElem series, we have been very grateful to see an increasing number of users who appreciate the inherent high performance and concept of EPEIOS products. We have received particularly strong support from users who are particular about the quality of their coffee, so in order to respond to their feedback, we would like to first deepen our involvement in the coffee industry .

Although we haven't set any concrete plans for the future, we would like to continue planning and developing products for everyday life as a lifestyle solutions brand. With "change" as the keyword, we would like to work on products that can provide "spirit-enriching experiences" as solutions that set us apart from other companies .
